The IOA is turning 50 and at the Southern Branch we will be celebrating with a half day event on railway noise and vibration control, mostly focused on HS2. The following presenters will be sharing their knowledge and experience with during the afternoon:

  • Innovative and pragmatic examples of managing construction noise and vibration impacts in a densely populated area – Tom Farmer, Senior Acoustic Consultant, Skanska-Costain-Strabag Joint Venture
  • Design and testing of noise barriers for HS2s Colne Valley Viaduct – Nigel Triner, Acoustics Lead, ALIGN-D (Jacobs)
  • Developing a prediction model for high speed train noise – Daniel Lurcock, Principal Consulting Engineer, ISVR Consulting
  • Managing Noise on Large Infrastructure Projects – Roger Dentoni & Sam Williams, Balfour Beatty VINCI Joint Venture
  • Acoustic Design of HS2s Stations – Graeme Littleford, Acoustic Engineer, HS2

Presentations will be recorded and may also be streamed depending on interest. When registering, please make sure to select the right type of ticket.  As always, the event is free to members of the IOA, as well as to students and the public. CPD certification will be offered for attendance.
