The Acoustics of The Bridgewater Hall

Rob Harris, the Hall’s original acoustic consultant, explains how its famous acoustic works.
Rob will discuss the brief, the auditorium acoustic, ancillary area acoustics, services noise control and sound insulation, including the protection of the hall from the adjacent Metrolink.
His lecture will be followed by an opportunity to view the Hall’s famous springs in the undercroft.
Please note that tour places are strictly limited and access to the undercroft is via a metal staircase. Tours leave at 6.00pm, 6.20pm and 6.40pm. Free Tickets for the talk and tour are available from the website:

Following the talk and tour there is a recital by pianist Sir András Schiff, for which tickets can be purchased separately, in order to hear the halls acoustic.
