Scottish Branch

This meeting provides the opportunity to try a number of technologies used in Glasgow’s Arup office, as well as visit radio broadcast studios. The meeting will start with the Scottish Branch AGM and will end with a meal/social gathering. The technologies that will be demonstrated in the Arup office can be used on projects to engage with clients and stakeholders, and show case auralisation and visualisation. SoundLab Lite allows people to experience an auralisation under relatively controlled conditions when unable to attend the full scale SoundLab facility itself. There will also be a Virtual Reality demonstration of an immersive visualisation with auralisation of a performance space on the Oculus platform. Finally, Global Media broadcast studios will be visited. These broadcast for Heart, Capital, Capital XTRA, Classic FM, Smooth, LBC, Radio X and Gold to 25.1 million listeners each week right across the UK. Numbers are strictly limited to 30 places for the Arup and Global Media visit, so please ensure you book your place early to avoid disappointment. Participants will be split in 3 groups and spaces will be visited on a rotational basis (see below).
