Infrastructure Acoustics - and much more!
1.30pm registration for 2.00pm start
Wednesday 18th October 2017
The University of Salford, The Crescent, Salford, M5 4WT

A half day meeting on the acoustic issues around different infrastructure projects.  With the approach of HS2 towards the Northwest, there will be a significant increase in work relating to many aspects of sound and vibration for this large scale Infrastructure project.  We have seen a significant interest in subjects related to these projects at our evening meetings in the last year. This half day meeting will host experienced professionals with a breadth of understanding around these projects.  Topics covered will include sound and vibration impacts relating to HS2, Crossrail, aircraft noise, and stadium design.  At the end of the talks there will be a panel discussion.

The event is kindly being hosted by the University of Salford who will also provide a number of brief presentations on their latest research projects.

We will also be providing a live video link to a simultaneous half day meeting being hosted by the IOA Southern Branch, which will increase the scope of presentations and audience reach.  Topics covered in their talks include rifle fire noise, 3D printed acoustic ear simulation, far-field beamforming, and other topics guaranteed to be interesting!  It is hoped that a schedule of all the intended presentations will be available at a later date, together with further details of the rooms to be used.

The event is free to members and the general public, but as numbers are limited, prior registration is needed using the link below;
