Based on recent research into the psychological responses to sound stimulus of office workers, the presentation explores psychoacoustics in the workplace context. Discussions will include means of distraction, factors affecting noise impact including performance and coping mechanisms, and how different personalities are affected by sound. the presentations will conclude with practical applications before opening to the floor for Q&A.
About the speaker:
Paige Hodsman: is the Concept Developer for Offices in the UK and Ireland for Saint-Gobain Ecophon. Paige co-authored the Acoustics Chapter of 'Ergonomic Workplace Design for Health Wellness and Productivity' and the literature review 'Planning for Psychoacoustics: A Psychological Approach to Resolving Office Noise Distraction' along with Dr. Nigel Oseland, Workplace Unlimited. She has a background in Office Design, Environmental Management and Acoustics. Her primary objective is to raise awareness within the architecture and design, property, and workplace professions on the importance of good office acoustics for human health, well-being and performance.
