The purpose of this meeting is to highlight recent technological developments that can improve facilities for musical performance

CALL FOR PAPERS

This one day meeting will provide a forum on such topics as:

  • computer aided design and production of musical instruments
  • experimental techniques to improve and reduce costs of musical instruments
  • synthesis of sounds and visualisation
  • analysis of player-instrument interactions, music pedagogy
  • recorded music - recent developments to improve sound quality
  • musical soundscapes in the urban environment

 

This meeting is open to all, and is expected to be of interest to members of the Institute of Acoustics and will take place on the day prior to ‘Reproduced Sound 2017’ The meeting is also likely to be of interest to instrumental music teachers and performers, sound engineers, music distributors and those looking at new possibilities in music making.

Offers of presentations on other aspects of research into musical acoustics will be considered for the programme.

The Nottingham Conference Centre is part of the Nottingham Trent University, Business School, located in the heart of the city, the conference centre entrance is on Burton Street, but if you are using the tram you can also use the University entrance on Goldsmith Street.

Parking is available at the nearby Q-park car park on Talbot Street http://www/q-park.co.uk.
This is available at £7.50 per day per car or overnight or £9.50 per24hr per car. Delegates should take their parking tickets to the Conference Centre reception for validation for this reduced rate.
 
TRAVEL
The M1 passes close to the city and East Midlands International Airport is about 30 minutes away. Its approxomately half hour taxi trip from Nottingham Station, a tram is also available from the railway station, use the Royal Centre stop.

Reproduced Sound 2017 have arranged a Tuesday evening visit to the University of Derby where attendees will have the opportunity to explore the research of the Entertainment Engineering subject group (www.uodlive.com), including interactive demonstrations of ambisonics, 3D audio for virtual reality, live sound reinforcement technology, applications of immersive audio in theatre, 3D audio through tissue conduction, plus much more!
