Scottish Branch Meeting
RSNO Centre visit, Glasgow
Wednesday 28 September 2016   17.45 -19.00h

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) Centre was opened last year and this meeting will provide an opportunity to visit the Centre and learn about its acoustic design. The visit will be followed by a meal/social gathering. For registration to the visit and meal attendance, please use the links given at the bottom. Numbers are strictly limited to 30 places, so please ensure you book your place early to avoid disappointment.

The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall has been the main performance venue for the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for many years. Having grown significantly, the RSNO required a new space that would be multifunctional; allowing orchestral rehearsals as well as impactful performances, being able to transition between the two in a short space of time.

The RSNO Centre has been created to become the orchestra’s home, and allow the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall to expand their performance program. This new headquarters effectively incorporates two venues in one place, to enable the orchestra to engage and communicate with communities across Scotland.

A multi-disciplinary approach, placing acoustic quality at the forefront, provided an innovative solution to address the differing needs of the space, which allows it to be refigured seamlessly within 30 minutes.
