The Institute of Acoustics has joined the Campaign for Science & Engineering (CaSE), an independent organisation dedicated to raising the political profile of science and engineering.
Allan Chesney, IOA Chief Executive, said: "We are very pleased to join CaSE and look forward to working with them to help promote the importance of science and engineering in the UK. We look forward to bringing the expertise of our members to support their work. An understanding of how acoustics crosses and complements many engineering and scientific disciplines is critical not just to engineering and economic success but to all of our wellbeing."
Dr Sarah Main, Director of CaSE, said: "I am delighted to welcome the IOA as new members.
